Bio

Since February 2017, I have been working as an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Engineering Technology, Department of Design, Production and Management at University of Twente (UT). I am mainly contributing to the Industrial Design Engineering Bachelors and Masters programs at UT.

After graduating from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Industrial Design in 2005 with an honours degree, I worked as a furniture designer for 1.5 years. Meanwhile, I started my masters at METU in the field of industrial design. My masters thesis was on understanding consumers’ emotional responses to brands and branded products. Besides, during my masters, I worked as a full-time teaching assistant. While working as a teaching assistant at the Department of Industrial Design at METU, I also worked as a researcher in many projects at the UTEST-Product Usability Testing Unit.

During my PhD studies, I worked on understanding the dimensions of user experience of personal informatics systems, focusing mainly on physical activity tracking. During my PhD studies, I got Fulbright PhD Student Scholarship through which I went to Carnegie Mellon University, Human-Computer Interaction Institute (USA). There, I worked with Prof. Dr. Jodi Forlizzi and Prof. Dr. Dan Siewiorek.

After pursuing my PhD studies, I started working as an Assistant Profesor at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Department of Industrial Design.
