Bio

Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Engineering Technology, Department of Design, Production and Management at University of Twente. I am mainly contributing to the Industrial Design Engineering Bachelors and Masters programs at UT.

After graduating from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Industrial Design in 2005 with an honour degree, I worked as a furniture designer for one and a half years. Meanwhile, I started my masters studies in February 2006 at METU, Department of Industrial Design again. My masters thesis was on understanding consumers’ emotional responses to brands and branded products. And during my masters, I started working as a teaching assistant in the same department, where I worked as a full-time paid junior lecturer.

I pursued my PhD studies which were about understanding the dimensions of user experience of personal informatics systems. During my PhD, I was honoured with the Fulbright Scholarship through which I went to study at Carnegie Mellon University, Human-Computer Interaction Institute (USA) for 1 academic year between 2011-2012. There, I worked with Prof. Dr. Jodi Forlizzi and Prof. Dr. Dan Siewiorek.

While working as a research assistant at the Department of Industrial Design at METU, I also worked as a researcher in many projects at the UTEST-Product Usability Testing Unit.

After pursuing my PhD studies, I started working as an Assistant Profesor at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Department of Industrial Design.
